Evidence 9: Net Migration Rates of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, 1960-2003

Introduction

Net migration gives us the raw number of people coming and going, but these figures are difficult to compare between countries. Germany, after all, is considerably larger than the U.K. The "rate of net migration" divides the net migration by the total population. The resulting rate of net migration allows us to compare more accurately the effects of immigration between countries.
